Birmingham Youth Divert Feasibility Study
Khulisa delivered a feasibility study for working in a trauma informed way with young adults in Birmingham.
Initial Project Outline: This grant is for a six month study to prepare the ground for a potential pilot programme in Birmingham to support young people aged between 18 and 25. Vulnerable young adults who have experienced emotional trauma, disproportionately from BAME backgrounds, have inadequate support from statutory and voluntary services and are often treated as adults. It will identify high need demographic areas in Birmingham, potential third sector partners, and design a tailored programme of work. The proposed programme of work is new but is complemented by the existing relationship it has with the office of the West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner.
