KeyRing carried out research to better understand the experiences of young adults with learning difficulties in the criminal justice system.

Initial Project Outline: The project aims to support young people with learning disabilities and with lived experience of the criminal justice system, it will do this by sharing their expertise and experiences, the impact of current ways of working, including the gaps between policy and practice for this group. Participants will benefit by developing transferable hard and soft skills, which will enhance future opportunities, including social skills and employability. The project will convene groups of young adults with lived experience to discuss key issues in the justice system. It will produce a report of its findings and disseminate it to justice officials and other influential stakeholders including third sector groups.
