The lived experience described in the boxes below represent a cross section of the young adults engaging with T2A’s six demonstration projects. They illustrate what could be done differently at each stage of the criminal justice system – from policing and arrest to custody and resettlement and how the additional support services for young adults can deliver outcomes. These lived experience examples have been taken from the First Interim Evaluation Report which was published in May 2016.
Have a look at our T2A films of young adults involved in the demonstration projects, (as well as some from T2A’s previous pilots 2009-13). These films illustrate the importance of taking into account maturity and putting into place appropriate interventions at all stages of the criminal justice process.
